WARNING: THIS IS A NC 16 POST. CRUDE LANGUAGE USED.
As of right now, I am feeling negative. I am so freaking disappointed, upset and annoyed. Went to Anchorvale CC's swimming complex earlier on. Didn' expect for things to turn out nasty. I question the moral values of our society. Where is respect when you deserve one? Where is consideration when you seek one? And this, especially, where is the WELFARE of the different races when you promised one? Let's break it down.
I was wearing this lycra (FYI: a swimming costume material) spaghetti top and shorts. I know the fact that we can't wear T-shirts inside the pool and so I took some of my RESPECTFUL value to use when I wore a spaghetti top instead. So, about 45 minutes into the pool, this China lifeguard approached me and requested that I leave the pool as my attire is not appropriate. I was utterly disgusted by the gesture but I obeyed him as at least, he was polite in telling me so.
After leaving that pool, I became stubborn (as I had paid 2 fucking dollars to get in). I went to the other side of the swimming complex and got myself settled in the pool. Little did I realise that this woman lifeguard came to me to tell me the same thing. Guess what? Of course I blew up!! What the fuck is wrong with these people? Have they not realise that modesty is part of being a Muslim? It's bad enough that I'm wearing a spaghetti top AND shorts (a slutty combo, and I swear I don't wear like this when I go out), what more be in a teeny weeny boobs-popping, ass-dropping, flesh-revealing bikini set in a- GET THIS- SWIMMING POOL??? Where the sense in that? Bikini is worn when you go to the beach. We are Singaporeans, not Westerners. And so, I asked her why can't I wear what I'm wearing. She said that only the swimming material is allowed in the pool. I said to her that mine was lycra. She said no and insisted that it was cotton and she knew cause she was a GIRL?! Huh?
I got into a little fight with her, arguing that I'm paying 2 bucks to get my ass on the edge of the pool and not inside of the pool? On top of that, I criticised her for her lack of consideration towards the Muslim community who have to sacrifice swimming because of some lame dress code. True, a divers' swimsuit would avoid me from trouble and also from showing too much skin, but what's the point in buying one, which costs a bomb, when I rarely go swimming? And and what's wrong with cotton you tell me? Will you die if you swim in it? Even the Malaysian Government is nice enough to allow their people to wear T-shirts into the pool. So what's the theory now?
And so, I left that pool to go to another part of the swimming complex to swim. And then, you guessed it right. A THIRD lifeguard -a man- came up to me to shoo me off the pool. This time, I got super angry! I actually scolded him and he did the unexpected back. He actually fought back at me after everything I said. He gave this super rude remark. He said "When you are at the swimming pool, where according to what you are suppose to wear. What you're wearing now, you can wear it when you go out and walk outside. You wear soccer shorts when you're at the field and not in the pool right?!" What a jerk!! I left as soon as he said that. I knew what I had to do. I was going to give my feedback on the dress code rules and the incorrigible staff. I am going to stress on the lack of respect the lifeguards had towards the commuters and also the lack of consideration they have on the more modest community. Somebody stand up for me. This is just not fair.
PS: Don't be surprised. This is the 6th day of Syawal and I have YET to go jalan raya, that's why I go swimming instead. WHY?
