Like a house of cards.
As requested by anonymous in formspring, I have decided to come up with a list of information a stranger would definitely NOT know about me. So here you go:
10 things you probably don't know about me
1. Firstly, Syirin is just part of my name. My full name is actually Nur Hasyirin. BUT, nobody calls me that, not even teachers. So, I'm really not used to hearing my full name being called out. I do love my name though cause it's UNIQUE!
2. I walk with my right feet curving slightly inwards. No, it's not a deformity I acquired during my 20 years of living. But really, it is a handicap I am naturally born with. It is not severe though; not to the extent where people walking by can actually notice it. Unless you stare hard at it, it's not that obvious, really.
3. When I am surfing the net/using the computer, I would place my left hand over my mouth and nose, such that they're cupped (you know, as if there's a bad-smelling thing around me). It's a habit I picked up unknowingly and my brother finds it pretty annoying. Like, when he's sitting beside me, he would push my hand away from my mouth and force me to stop. Sometimes, he would just laugh cause it's funny to him.
4. My fingernails will turn an ugly purpleish-yellow colour when I'm cold. Usually happens when I'm in a cold room for a long period of time.
5. Oh, I bite the skin around my fingernails! Addictive much. And bad habit much.
6. I can't have my papers handed to me crumpled/torn/doodled.
7. I am a super neat freak when it comes to writing. I have had numerous comments about my handwriting looking more like it's typewritten rather than hand-written. I can write sentences on a blank paper so straight and precise, you would have thought I drew really fine lines underneath. Teachers absolutely love it! But some of my friends would actually get irritated by my neat-ness.
8. I don't favour necklaces or rings, really unlike other normal girls. I do, however, accessorize myself with bangles and earrings cause that's the only thing I actually like having on myself. I don't really know the reason as to why I don't like them. Maybe cause I never had stuffs like that put on me/given to me so I was never influenced/forced into liking it. Weird, I know. That explains why you NEVER see me with necklaces/rings too. Haha.
9. I only started being fashion-conscious 2 years back. Before that, I was dressing like the ultimate Minah. Short denim skirts, tight tanks, cropped Bugis street jeans and all. I started experimenting with fashion when I realised how shitty I looked like wearing all those and when I started knowing Mish (cause he is quite particular on dressing and style). I'm glad though he has been like that from the start, cause (I'm sorry if I might offend anyone; just my opinion) I can't stand guys who don't dress pleasantly, if not nicely.
10. I was stick-thin (think Kate Moss) back when I was in secondary school. Hard to grasp? Unbelievable? Still doubtful? You are free to ask around. Haha. Yes, I was a bony girl with bony limbs and bony everything. If I remember correctly, some used to call me 'sup tulang', or 'mutton-bone soup'. But alas, nothing last forever. I remembered wanting to get fat so much, only cause I thought I looked hideous skinny. But now, I regret EVERY wishes I had ever made, every words of hope I had ever conveyed on wanting to be fat. Be careful what you wish for skinny ladies. Wrong wish and you'll end up like me. Haha.
