In a pool, by your feet.
The girls and I have always talked about going on an all-girls overseas trip together. But each time we got down to the nitty gritty part of it, none of what we discusssed about ever materialised. It was either physical commitments like work and school, or financial setbacks that stopped us in our tracks.
And then one fine day, Que, Farah and I came up with a brilliant idea. We decided to have our 'all-girls overseas trip' together in SINGAPORE! Our plan was to book a nice hotel, have a nice dinner together and just stay in to do everything and anything.
After much deliberation, we settled on the newly-renovated Grand Park Hotel (the hotel above Topshop Knightsbridge)- smack in the middle of Orchard Road. We chose that particular hotel because we wanted access to eating and shopping and Orchard seemed like a good location for all that.
So, we met up in the afternoon and checked in together. Shar only met us in the later part of the afternoon, hence her absence in the first couple of photos below.
At the lobby, waiting for Que to help us all check in.
And.........
this was our room!
And our very pretty bathroom. The bed was positioned beside the bathroom, and the entire glass window was see-through. So we could all see one another when we do our stuff!

Okay lah, bo cwee already. Got blinds upstairs. Hahahahaha!
After much camwhoring, it was GROCERY-SHOPPING TIME!

Snacks to accompany us through the night!
After grocery-shopping, we headed to Thai Express at Heeren for our early dinner. We also met Shar there.
My very unglam air sterwardess!
When dinner was over, we headed over to the hotel room cause Shar had yet to see our room and settle down. Took a couple of photos (this time with Shar) before going out again to Far East.
Us doing the infamous Tammy Tay's 'smile-laugh' face! Hahahaha.
Out again.
The birthday girl had her hair trimmed over at Far East and she came out looking like this! So loving the hair!
Got back to our hotel room again, but this time to really stay in. We washed our faces, changed into our home clothes and started sprawling on the bed and the floor.
The GE results show was on that night, so we tuned in while stuffing our faces with food. Honestly, I don't really enjoy politics and I couldn't care less who won what (oklah, I knew I wanted some opposition in the cabinet and that's about it). But the girls really got me reeled in, so I played 'politics' too and we talked about this guy and that guy and that party and everyone else in the television the entire time.
When the results show ended, it was already close to 3-4 am, and some of us were getting sleepy. To perk ourselves up (after all, we only got one night, sleep can wait), we decided to head down and walk around Orchard with our home clothes and slippers! I was the ugliest lor, hahahahaha. My top was oversized and loose at the wrong places while my bottom made my thighs and ass looked damn huge! No wonder Fashli said I looked like a maid at home. Hahahahaha!
COOL RIGHT. We looked like we live 'just around the corner'. We live in Orchard Road okay, people!
For the rest of the night (and morning), we remaining 5 girls (1 was down) talked, laughed, played games, screamed, danced and shared a lot. I realised we haven't shared so much since we all left secondary school, even though we meet up every now and then. So many things inside- feelings, stories, secrets, hopes and dreams. Although I know that there are a lot more things inside that we are keeping to ourselves, and that we all want most of these 'things' to be left as history and not be remembered or retold ever again, I wish we were all more open about it in the very beginning. But the sharing has definitely helped, and it felt good to have friends listening and not judging and be there to support.
.............................................................................
Okay, on to what happened next. Morning came and Que was slowly shutting down. I forced her to keep her eyes open because if she's down, everybody else would be down too eventually. So to keep ourselves awake, we headed down to Macdonald's at Heeren to grab breakfast and went back to eat them in our hotel room.
We all took a nap after breakfast. And these are the people who refused to wake up.

I call them............................the three little (big-ass), lazy pigs!
I know my ending's a lil abrupt, but that's our little holiday for you. Till the next post.
PS: This was our birthday gift to Farah. Hope you like it! <3
